Why pickup matters this summer
Waimea Canyon Drive between Maʻule Road and Kōkeʻe Road is closed weekdays 8am–11:30pm for resurfacing until 17 August 2026. The detour for Kōkeʻe State Park is Kōkeʻe Road out of Kekaha. If you are renting a car and staying in Poipu or Lihue, the detour adds 30–60 minutes of driving. A tour with pickup eliminates that scramble. You sleep in, meet your group, and skip the navigation.
