Waimea Canyon hikes: the two main trails
The private tour includes optional short hikes chosen by the guide for weather and group fitness, 0.25–0.5 miles round trip on relatively even ground. The ground tours do not include hikes; they stop at lookouts. Self-drive visitors can walk either trail if they choose.
Self-drive pages link to trail information from State Parks. Both trails are named by the park and have trailheads on the main road. Neither requires a guide or special gear; sturdy sneakers and layers are enough.
